Being saved is as easy as going through a door.

We earlier saw that being saved is as easy as: receiving a gift, and as easy as eating and drinking.
Today, we learn that being saved is as easy as going through a door, and opening a door.

John 10:9. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

To be saved, a person must enter through what door? The Lord Jesus.
Trusting Christ is no more difficult than going through a door.

And yet as we read Matthew 7:13-14, we discover that only a few pass through that door. (Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it).
Remember there is no other door and no other way. (John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me). (Acts 4:12. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved).

Being saved is as easy as opening a door.

Revelation 3:20. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

  • As the Lord stands at the door, what is He doing? He knocks.
  • Do you think that He wants to come in? Yes.
  • According to this verse, what are the two things the sinner must do?
    • The sinner must hear the voice of the Lord.
    • The sinner must open the door.

Note: The word sup means to dine, to have supper with, and it speaks of the believer's close fellowship with the Lord Jesus.
The Lord Jesus is always ready, and willing, and able to save all those who call upon Him for salvation. (Romans 10:13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved).
