Romans 8:14 AMP For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Romans 8:15 AMP For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God's judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, "Abba! Father!"

Paul shows that the Spirit we received is the Spirit of Sonship (the Spirit producing sonship). This was the very Spirit that enabled Jesus to pray “…. not my will, but thine be done”.

What Paul tries to show here is deep. The sons of God are those who allow God’s Spirit to work obedience and yielded-ness to God them. God’s Spirit is able to produce sonship in us, but we must allow Him. We have received the Spirit of Adoption (the Spirit producing sonship). We cannot “make up our minds” to yield to God. God’s Spirit in us takes care of “producing sonship”, our part is to say Yes to the leading of the Lord as He speak, and guides and operates in us and through us.
